Several cultures throughout history have left their mark on our earth and its history through myths and legends that will never die.

But who better to hear them from than the people who have really lived them in the form of the characters themselves?

The museum at the institution included a life-size replica of Tora, the lady depicted in the display. His current look was built from 1970s-era documents uncovered in his squelette.

She was born in the prosperous trading center of Trondheim, Norway, around the turn of the 13th century, or just after the year 1200.

Tora, being born into a family of merchants, would have been raised in a socially and economically acceptable environment.

His remains were located in a cemetery outside of Kaupmannastretet, the town’s main drag.

According to archéologue Ellen Grav, she passed away at the ripe old age of 65, edentée and bossue, which was quite a bit older than the typical lifespan of 40-50 at the time.

To create the most lifelike copy, designers draw inspiration from original clothes unearthed in the State Church of Uvdal about the same period.

Thanks in large part to the talents of film makeup artist Thomas Foldberg, the final product is both visually attractive and remarkably realistic.
