Amanda quit her job in 2016 and was diagnosed with depression by doctors.
The woman then made the decision to get a pet in the hope that it would give her life new life.
On an ad site, she saw a small black-and-white cat.

In order to pick up Cookie, her four-legged friend, Amanda drove one way for an hour.
The woman was misled into thinking that the cat helped her stay hydrated and get rid of parasites.
After two days, she had to rush Cookie to the vet because she was severely dehydrated and had worms in her stomach.

Amanda couldn’t place the feline in the emergency clinic, since she needed more cash for this.
As a result, the woman made the decision to care for the infant herself.
Cookie was too small, weighed too little, and had a low immunity to take worming pills.
Amanda made homemade pies out of boiled fish and chicken to help her gain weight.

A pill was sucked down the kitten’s throat every six hours. Additionally, regular bathing was practiced.
The kitten contracted an infection after finally getting rid of the worms.
For a few months, Amanda fought for Cookie’s life.

She is now a happy and active pet after a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Amanda recalled having days when she couldn’t get out of bed because she was depressed.
However, at that point, a four-legged animal turned to her and remained steadfastly by her side.
Cookie was born one month prior to my severe breakdown. Perhaps we should have met each other sooner. Amanda stated, « We saved each other. »
