Your baby is discovering who they are around 5 to 6 months old. Additionally, your child is developing the ability to tell the difference between adults, children, strangers, and parents.

Your baby can laugh, shriek, and smile to express emotions like delight, joy, and pleasure.
At this age, your baby smiles when they want to. However, when your baby is sad or furious, they will wail, scowl, and grunt.

When speaking, your child may babble and make sounds like « baba » or « gaga. » Your child will, however, also speak to you through a variety of sounds, gestures, and smiles.
At this age, your baby is able to move their head independently and is starting to move their body more by reaching, wriggling, and rolling.
Additionally, your baby is much better at using their gaze to direct their hands. Your baby is capable of holding things in one hand, putting them in their mouth, or transferring them from hand to hand. These days, people learn by touching and tasting objects.

Your baby’s appetite is growing, and he or she is prepared to experience the flavors and textures of various foods. Around 6 months old is when solid foods should be started.
At this age, your baby may also shake or bang objects to discover how they function. Your infant might also use their hands to help them balance when sitting and sit up with assistance.
