Strange and remarkable bond between a stray cat and a geriatric bear is revealed

Patrons of the Berlin Zoo have enjoyed seeing a bear and cat’s remarkable bond for the last decade.

When the animals first met, the bear had just turned 30 years old. She was in her late thirties or early forties.

Mäuschen was the name of her dog. Her daily routine was tedious and uninteresting.

The origins of this tale may be traced back to the early 2000s.

Everything changed in an instant.

The enclosure had a tree growing in it. As the bear looked down at the black cat, the cat looked up.

She was knocked out cold. Mäuschen was apprehensive at first, but soon warmed up to the stranger. The cat was not in the mood to leave the room.

Then the unexpected occurred.

Affection was developing between the animals and their human caretakers. True friendship follows.

Muschi was the name of the cat. She decided on a bear as her companion.

Their bond was unbreakable. There was never any time apart from each other.

In 2007, the cage was shut down for maintenance after seven years.

The bear had to be temporarily moved due to safety concerns. The cat had been waiting for her friend’s return for many months.

Since she wasn’t permitted to visit Mäuschen in the first place.

After a long separation, all of the animals have been reunited. And they were ecstatic as a result. Three more years passed before the bear died at a ripe old age.

After then, the cat vanished. There were whispers that she had been taken in by good folks. But it’s not clear whether this is the case.
