Because Roxy and Toulouse were born without one eye, their previous owners decided they were no longer desired. Euthanasia was a possibility for the pair, but a family chose against it and adopted him.
Two one-eyed dogs in Belgium were given a new life by the family that adopted them, one that was far happier than the previous. a report from the British media outlet Metro.

The names Roxy and Toulouse elicit a response from the quadrupeds in question. Given how similar they are, these West Highland White Terriers may pass for twins.
They were both born without a functioning left eye because of a bacterial illness that developed during their mother’s pregnancy. At the time, their owners had made the decision to sell them because they saw them as « imperfect » and « unsaleable. » Then Roxy and Toulouse ran the prospect of being put to death.

The 19-year-old Fanny Sannier’s family became involved in this situation. She made the decision to adopt the 2 canines just before Christmas 2019 after becoming enchanted by them.
They have since lived a wonderful existence, spending their days running and having fun, especially with their buddies Nouga the Border Collie and Caramel the cat.

We adore them even more because of their individuality. The Sannier family had paid for the procedure to have their left eye removed. The treatment went flawlessly, and the dogs made a speedy recovery. They are both spoilt now and live like any other dog, said Fanny.

Given the unfortunate fate they were predicted, the latter decided to welcome Roxy and Toulouse into the family as new members. I’m overjoyed that we adopted them. They are vibrant, and I want them to stick by my side for as long as I can, she says.
The teenager continues, « [T]heir individuality makes [them] adore [them] even more. »
