The young border collie’s early life was full of neglect. Abandoned at a shelter in Claremore, Oklahoma, the pup, then named Kong, was battling a hurtful skin condition and sunburn so bad he couldn’t be petted.
Although Curtis Harry didn’t need a name to fall in love with the young white pup with the curious eyes and the prominent smile.
Harry, who has a full-time job, worried that his busy daily life wouldn’t go well with a dog – but something beyond words assured him that everything would be fine, he said. So he applied for adoption.
After a few interviews, including a home visit, Harry’s application was accepted and the time has finally come for the two to reunite for the first time.
Harry showed up at ZIB’s foster home, and someone was able to snap a photo of the incredible moment the sweet abandoned dog was finally found.
“Knowing that this poor pup was once neglected and just wanted to be loved – and that I can give him that love every day now is amazing. »
« I really feel saved by him and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him, » he shared. « Our lives revolve around each other now and I wouldn’t want it any other way. »
