The man walked out to the river bank to fish and, while throwing his fishing rod, noticed movement nearby. He moved his head slowly and quietly and spotted a bear.
The bear went softly out of the woods and sat down next to the fisherman, his gaze fixed on the lake.
Without making any unexpected movements, the fisherman took out his camera and began filming what his new partner would do.
Robert Horton later informed reporters the details of what happened.
He clarified that he had come to fish at this location for several years in a succession, where the river channel meets the western edge of a vast nature reserve.
« There are more fish here than elsewhere. « And it appears that my canine companion also came for the catch that day, » Horton remarked.
The bear didn’t appear bothered or to be guarding its territory. He stood or sat calmly next to the fisherman, as if wondering how the catch was today.
The bizarre scene lasted only three minutes, but Horton remembered it vividly. And, of course, he videotaped everything.
Finally, the bear went about his business calmly. The fisherman waited a little longer and then returned home.
