The likelihood that five brothers and sisters living in the same orphanage at the same time will wind up in the same foster family is incredibly slim.
They are fortunate that actual angels were given to them by fate.
More than 15 years have passed since Thomas and Andy Bonura tied the knot. The couple struggled despite having always desired a large brood.
The first pregnancy of Andy didn’t go well. The twins were then delivered at 25 weeks, but only one of the boys lived.
After another attempt, the couple eventually had two daughters. Following that, the medical professionals advised Andy to stop giving birth.
We made the decision to adopt a child « even before we had children of our own, » adds Andy.
This idea wouldn’t go away, so we located a company that assisted us in receiving training and lining up.
The Bonura spouses adopted a boy named Bryson quite quickly after they got married. The two-year-old boy’s life was going well, but he constantly missed his siblings.
It found out that he had four of them, and Andy and Thomas made the decision to add David and Gabrielle as two more children to the family through adoption.
And when it became clear that Bryson’s parents would no longer have custody of any of the kids, they consented to take the rest.
As a result, Andy and Thomas are now legally the parents of eight kids. Five additional children were added to their huge family.
The couple claims that adopting five children was their most significant life decision. Their desire to have a large family was realized.
Foster parents work to provide a loving, nurturing environment for the family and provide a solid foundation of support for the kids who, due to fate, are unable to live with their original parents.
