Rob Wilde, a resident of a small community outside Cape Town, and his family had a dreadful New Year’s experience when they discovered a poisonous snake inside their home on a festive Christmas tree!
Rob Wilde and his wife Marcela are natives of an English county in the southeast. 15 years ago, they relocated to Cape Town, where they eventually made their home in McGregor. They gave birth to their kids here.

The family decorates the house and makes gifts for one another in honor of their two favorite holidays, Christmas and New Year.
The Christmas tree was brought out in early December and instantly decorated this year.

The actions of two cats served as the initial « bell » indicating anything was going on in the space. They hissed as they gave the tree a close inspection.
At first, Marcela assumed the animals had spotted an insect or a small rat, but as the animals started acting restless, she decided to investigate.
She walked up to the tree and saw a snake on it. Rob gave Jerry some pictures, and it turned out that the Christmas tree had a boomslang on it.

The snake-cutter gave Rob urgent advice: while he is on the road, the family’s head should closely observe all of the dangerous visitor’s activities after moving a few meters away from the tree.
There was a chance that the snake would move, which would cause the search to last for a number of hours.

The snake, according to Jerry Haynes, appeared hostile, but he eventually caught it after it dropped off the tree. He took the snake with him and put it in a special container.
Rob acknowledged that he was prepared to receive any present beneath the tree, but not this one.
When Jerry got there, he removed the snake, put it somewhere secure, and then, after some time, he took it away and let it go.
