Cloe Hunger is this amazing girl, and Stella is her dog. They’re San Diego residents.
The girl is a speech-language pathologist. You’ll also be shocked to learn that Christina has taught her dog to communicate with her.
However, with the use of a unique speech output technology rather than with actual words.
It was a difficult procedure. To train their dog to utilize the device, Christina and her boyfriend Jake needed more than a year.
After 16 months of training, Stella had learned to memorize 29 words; one year later, she had learned 40 commands and words.
Cloe placed an order for a unique board for training. The number of buttons on it increased with time.
Every button has a different meaning, including words like eat, sleep, play, look, glad, furious, park, etc. In order for Cloe and Jake to hear their dog’s message from the other rooms, they must press the button that plays that word.
Her dog was trained to speak by a speech therapist, and now he speaks to his owners in 40 different terms.
The dog was present while this was being done, and Sat was able to observe which buttons were pressed.
Sat now lets the owners know whether she wants to play, sleep, or go on a walk. Sometimes entire conversations come out.
Sat might press « look » in response to a knock on the door, for instance. Or, if she wants to play, she hits « happy » after touching the relevant button with her paw.
The dog is also aware of the owners’ responses to her. Sat requests to go for a walk, for instance, and Cloe and Jake respond by pressing « ok ». When this happens, the dog is giddy with happiness.
Cloe promises to keep teaching Sat new words. It will need some time. The girl wants to create courses in the future for other canines.
