When a swarm of neighboring surfers gathered to beat the swells, something peculiar happened. At the crack of dawn, a group of surfers led by Mauriccio saw a « black lump » in a nearby stream.
When the surfers heard what sounded like an animal’s scream, they decided to go closer to investigate what was going on.
About 50 meters downstream, they found the remains of a little whale that had been abandoned. The animal was released to the water by a group of surfers.
The fact that he couldn’t even keep his head above water suggested that he was too fatigued to even attempt swimming back. As a result, the narrative didn’t stop at that point.
He and his colleagues agreed to remain with the children until Mauriccio restored his sense of self. It took roughly six hours to complete.
Many locals came to witness what was going on during the course of this period.
As a consequence, several of the more reputable surfers decided to take the risk of relying on the rising tide to bring the whale back to deeper seas.
He re-entered the water six hours later. The courageous guys are to be commended for their actions.
