This is a touching story about a little girl and her wonderful cat, who stood by her side at her darkest hour.
Mane was 14 years old when he was diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer. She began treatment as soon as she could.
The girl’s mother, Roberta, feels Mane is an expert at finding reasons to be happy. While undergoing cancer treatment, Roberta requested a kitten.
Mane was advised by Roberta that they would wait till the procedure was completed. If everything went according to plan, the girl would have the cat she craved.
Unfortunately, during the final stages of her therapy, it was discovered that the sickness had spread throughout her body and she would not survive.
Mane had one last request for her father, Mark, when she returned home from the hospital. An hour later, Mane was given a cat named Luna.
Luna and Mane were together 24 hours a day, seven days a week for two and a half days, and the kitty seemed completely devoted to the kitten, as her mother, Roberta, once remarked. Mane pleaded with her parents to look after Liza in her final hours.
Roberta was surprised. When she began to cry for the loss of her newborn girl, Luna came to her side to console her.
