Keith Soffes, a Texas native and shrimp boat skipper, takes his beloved pet for a swim every day. Monr is the name of the dog.
But one of those days ended up being a complete disaster. Dog plunged into the ocean. And even though the day was quiet and the weather was perfect, the dog had vanished. Monr was nowhere to be found despite Keith’s best efforts.
Sadly, Keith added, « I lost the one and only thing I actually loved. » On the Internet, he posted his tragic tale and received a lot of encouragement and well wishes. He never gave up on the possibility of one day being able to locate his cherished puppy. Then a miracle occurred.
Keith received fantastic news on the sixth day following the sad occurrence. The puppy has been discovered!
The animal was discovered alive after swimming 6 kilometres to land. It was thrown from a shrimp boat. Monr had survived because he had managed to swim approximately 6 miles to the coast.
Keith couldn’t believe it and considered it impossible. The dog was discovered just a few days after swimming to shore. They were relieved to be reunited after a long gap.
Monr leapt on the owner, kissing him and acting as if nothing had occurred. « I couldn’t even speak because I was crying so hard. » Keith pledged to make certain that this never happens again. He plans to equip the dog with a life vest and a tracking gadget for future excursions.
