Tayla Clement, commonly known as « the girl who can’t smile, » discussed how she battles critics and, in spite of her peculiarity, secured her first modeling contract.
A 24 year old New Zealand woman has underdeveloped facial nerves as a result, which prevents her from moving her eyes side to side, raising her eyebrows, or even smiling.
When Tayla was only eight months old, she was diagnosed, and Clement has endured bullying because he appears « different ». The model was greatly impacted by the negativity that society expressed.
Tayla, on the other hand, eventually recognized and accepted her physical beauty. The model realized that she is the only one she has, so she must be strong and learn to defend herself.
« No one else can be me, and I can’t be anyone else, and there’s a lot of beauty in that, » the model said.
While Tayla is frequently told that she cannot smile like most people, she believes that her expression of happiness on her face is unique.
Negative comments continue to fall on the girl, but they only make her laugh. Taila responds to envious people with funny dances or cute videos, not loud words.
