A young woman who sadly lost her hair while battling a brain tumor received a ‘jaw-dropping’ makeover thanks to the efforts of a caring stylist.

Pixiebelle Sykes, 9, was born with beautiful hair that earned her the moniker « Rapunzel, » but her luxurious locks fell out and eventually turned white following three rounds of chemotherapy.

Terri Leanne Daly, 31, couldn’t believe it when she changed the ‘adorable’ young girl’s hairstyle in just 20 minutes for her aunt’s wedding.

When Pixiebelle showed up for the ceremony a few days later, she reported that her relatives and friends were equally surprised by her spectacular new look.

Even though I was nervous before the wedding, everyone’s jaws dropped when they saw me.

Pixiebelle’s mother, Katie Sykes, 35, who brought her to the Manchester salon, had no idea her short, a few-inch-long hair could be done.

She was driven to tears in a matter of  minutes, however, when the incredible trim, made of layered extensions, unfurled before her.

The hair then proceeded to grow, getting more beautiful with each passing day.

Everyone in the salon, including my sister and me, was in tears. What she said actually astonished me.

Katie went to the doctor when Pixiebelle was five years old because she was losing eyesight in her right eye. Pixiebelle was later discovered to have a tumor called a pilocytic astrocytoma.

She is currently participating in a one-of-a-kind experiment to see if a new medicine may treat her life-threatening disease.

According to Grtr. Manchester, Pixiebelle was given the nickname « Rapunzel » because of her remarkably long hair when she was born.

She hadn’t cut it since birth, and because it was so long—longer than the average five-year-old’s hair—people called her Rapunzel.

It was really beautiful, with natural highlights, and it grew back as she went through chemotherapy.

But then it happened again, and this time it was different because she was getting older and more aware of what other people were thinking.

Her hair was just two to three inches long, and Terri commented on how light her roots were.

However, at the salon where we work, we specialize in extensions. And after finding a lot of fragments, I gathered them all in her hair. ‘I piled her hair with small bobbles and barreled it to look like a wedding haircut.’

Pixiebelle, who was too low in her chair to see herself during the haircut, appeared « stunned » when she saw her hairstyle, according to Terri.

She didn’t say much, but I told her to stop crying because her mother and aunt were also crying.
