It’s in a dog’s nature to explore their surroundings, discover new things, and even leave living things. They may make friends with any species they come across since they are so gentle and amiable.
They occasionally bring the findings of their investigations home. This dog believed he had found excellent company.
Washington County recently experienced an intriguing event.
A family saw that their dog had brought home a small animal from the woods next to their backyard.
Evidently, the dog believed it to be a pup. When the dog’s owners learned it was a black bear cub, they were shocked.
They quickly assessed the young cub and realized their dog had just saved his life.
The poor bear baby was extremely dehydrated, bewildered, and feeble. He weighed roughly 1.2 pounds.
How long the cub had been left alone in the woods was unclear. It appears that he became lost or was unable to relocate to follow his family.
The dog’s owner, Richard Vaughan, searched the woods but was unable to locate his mother or his younger siblings.
As he had no idea how to care for the helpless cub bear, he told the conservation officer about the situation.
The tiny, black cub was soon brought to the Virginia Wildlife Center and placed in the care of compassionate people.
The poor cub required vitamins and minerals in addition to nutrition. In an incubator, he was placed.
The small cub recovered within a few months because of the team’s efforts.
He is back in the wild at this time, where perhaps he has found a new mother.
