Niamh was three years old when she fled. Milissa Mae, the dog’s owner, spent some time looking for the pet before deciding it was no longer there. She did, however, get a call from the Salisbury Animal Shelter nine years later.
Nearly 80 miles from Mae’s home, Niamh was discovered by the shelter personnel. The dog was seen pacing the streets. A microchip that was surgically placed allowed for her identification. Niamh’s reappearance was, in Milissa Mae’s words, a « Christmas miracle » for her.
The dog « has become a little deaf and gray, but otherwise remains the same, » according to the owner.
Additionally, Mae observes that Niamh has lost weight but is still in good health, indicating that the animal was obviously well-cared for.
Niamh was able to identify the owner after nine years of being apart and is once more a resident of Mae’s home.
The woman eventually acquired Ferdy, a seven-year-old dog, throughout the years. Ferdy and Niamh get along well with one another. When the owners’ search has been abandoned after several years, lost pets will occasionally return to them.
There are lots of stories about the friendship of the dog and their owner. This story is a bright example. Their friendship can be strong and reliable. As we can see, the dog is located and still recognizes its owner after a long time. What do you think about them?
