Karine Gombeau, a French national, visited New York and strolled through the city’s streets.
She saw a homeless man in one of the alleyways who was wandering next to the trash cans and, as she thought, was obviously going to hunt for food in them.
Karine entered the closest diner without stopping, ordered a pizza, and then gave the man the gift.
She didn’t discover that she had actually met Richard Gere—whom she had mistaken for a beggar—until she read the newspaper the following morning.
Karine claims that while comparing the city’s homeless population to that of Europe, she was shocked. She was really moved by the man in the alley, so she made the sincere decision to assist him.
Because of her limited English proficiency, the woman was unable to comprehend any of the man’s explanations. He received a box from the Frenchwoman, who then wished him a good day and carried on exploring the city.
However, photographers constantly follow actors when they are filming on city streets. They shot several pictures, which the next day were published in the media.
Karine discovered from the newspapers that Gere didn’t want to act differently or out of character during his lunch break because the Hollywood star had just finished a shoot that day.
The woman’s failure to recognize the star merely serves as further proof that Gere’s image was meticulously and expertly crafted by make-up experts and stylists.
Karine and her family stumbled onto this area of the city. They were unaware that a movie was being filmed there.
