This farmer in Columbia thought he was helping a stray kitten when in reality he was saving a wild cat’s life.When Elber Guzman saw the tiny creature on the side of the road, he was on his motorcycle. He jumped up to help it right away.
But after a few days, he found out that the tiny cat he had saved was actually a cougar that was just born!
Because there were so many abandoned animals in that region of the country, Guzman’s primary thought was to assist.
He picked up the terrified kitten when he saw it and carried it to his house, where he fed and cared for it.However, he did notice that the small animal was not acting like a cat.
The kind farmer made this observation: « I picked him up on the road, and he looked exactly like a cat. I thought to myself, ‘poor little animal, he must be lost in this lonely location,’ so I better take him home. »
“Because he had a long tail and round ears, I took a close look at him and was suspicious.In addition, his behavior was distinct from that of domestic cats.
Guzman contacted the country’s environmental agency, the Tolima Regional Autonomous Corporation, and they sent someone to check on the rescue « kitty. »
It turned out that the tiny animal the farmer saved was not a domestic cat but a cougar.
